Fractional GEO for Agencies
A part-time generative engine specialist alongside your team, steering work on entities, content and outside sources for your clients.
Book 20 MinutesA short call to scope GEO coverage for your team.
Fractional GEO is part-time expert direction for the question a client eventually asks: what does a language model say about us? Your team handles content and outreach. I review the approach and keep it tied to what can be checked.
GEO sits nearer to brand and entity work than classic SEO does. I bring fifteen years in SEO, nine of them running W3whiz, plus two-plus years at Search Atlas managing engineers on AI-search tooling, so I see both the delivery side and the tooling side.
How the review runs
A standing call, async flags and scoped conversations, all about how a model describes a client when a buyer asks about its category. The concern is the brand's presence across the sources a model draws on. Position in a results page does not enter into it.
Typical topics: whether the client's entity is described consistently across its own site and outside profiles, whether third-party mentions back up what the client claims, and whether the content gives a model clear material to summarize.
Take a concrete case. A client's founder asks a model for a summary of the company and gets a description that is two years out of date. We trace where that description could have come from, list which pages and profiles still carry it, and decide which of them your team can fix and which need outreach.
Fractional GEO next to fractional AEO
AEO review usually starts from one page and one question. GEO review starts from the whole footprint. For GEO I ask whether the model gets the client right, whether independent sources agree with what the client says, and whether the brand is named next to the right topics.
The disciplines overlap, and many clients need both. The questions in the room are different.
For reporting, this means different artifacts. An AEO report lists prompts and whether the client was cited. A GEO report lists statements a model made about the brand and whether each one was accurate and sourced.
Where GEO work goes wrong
Model outputs vary between prompts and over time, so one screenshot proves nothing, yet screenshots are what get reported. Other failures are structural.
The common thread is activity without a target. Each task should name the statement about the brand it is meant to change, and the source where that statement lives.
- A brand described three ways across its own pages and profiles
- Site claims with no independent source behind them
- Bulk content with no entity or topic it is meant to support
- A single model reply presented as a trend

FAQ
What is fractional GEO?
Fractional GEO is a part-time engagement where an experienced specialist directs your agency's work on how language models describe a client brand. The specialist reviews entities, content and third-party corroboration, while your team does the writing, the profile updates and the outreach.
How does fractional GEO differ from fractional AEO?
AEO review tends to start from a page and the question it should answer. GEO review looks across a brand's whole footprint and asks whether models have consistent, corroborated material to describe it. The two overlap, but they raise different questions and produce different reports.
Can GEO results be measured reliably?
Only loosely. Model replies change between prompts, models and days, so a check is a sample. I help teams set up repeatable sampling and report movement with its uncertainty stated, instead of promising a fixed mention rate that nobody can back with evidence.
Does fractional GEO include doing the work?
Production stays with your team. Fractional GEO covers review, direction and answers. White label GEO fulfillment is the separate engagement where my in-house team delivers under your brand, and agencies choose between the two by how much delivery they want to keep in-house.
